I had a healthy debate yesterday over whether Ed should have the right to request his alternate freestyle not be posted along with the others. Thoughts?

Did he request it not be posted? Incidentally... where can I find it? ;-)

I must admit - I did think this was very poor form.
I feel as though once you've stepped up onto the stage, in front of the general public, with cameras rolling and you've had your name called out over a PA system, you should have absolutely no right to ask to have it removed afterwards (unless something really bad happened, like your belt breaks, your pants fall down and you land the most painful trapeze ever...).
If his performance was that bad - I think a much more honourable way to deal with it would be to simply apologise. Something like this would have been perfect: "Sorry guys, I had one of those days where it just wasn't happening. I tried, but my reflexes, judgement and concentration just wasn't working. I know my performance sucked, but I'll come right back atcha next time!!!".
What next..? Hiroyuki Suzuki moderating the internet because he only placed 10th?

I see your point, but I'm going to play devil 's advocate. Ed wasn't competing. It was just an exhibition. He may as well have asked for some sloppy play in the lobby to not get published. Also, he's given us lots of good entertainment over the years. Can't he keep this one?

It's true, he has given us a ton of entertainment over very many years But still... getting up on a stage in front of people, where you know there are cameras rolling and having your name called out over a PA isn't quite the same as having some kid record some sloppy play in a lobby.
